As observed from today's Talka rates page here

Term Deposits CAD
4 year - 2.00%
5 year - 2.10%

Similar to Equity CU, Talka is also a single location CU in Ontario, previously discussed here

Also showing a HISA rate or 1.60%....all of which would be even better if they accepted online, remote applications but it appears they require an in branch visit in Hamilton for new clients.

I made an inquiry about their onboarding process

I am from GTA & not currently a member of Talka. Am I eligible to invest at Talka ? Do I need to come in to your office ?

... took them a while but this is Talka's reply to my inquiry

We are able to open the account remotely however we would need ID from you beforehand.
