Just saw spring promotion rates from Scotia:
The 29 month rate is 2.9%
Other rates are as follows:
12 month GIC= 2%
18 month GIC=2.2
29 month GIC=2.9
60 month GIC=2.75

There is a March 31 DEADLINE to purchase these.
Pretty good for a big 5 bank!!

The 29 month at 2.9% is wrong I called Scotiabank they are not offering that rate. The 12 and 18 monthers are correct. Dentgal was that rate offered to you through an adviser at a Scotia branch? They have some discretion and can call the gic"bond" desk for larger amounts. Do you have a link to that rate of 2.9?
