GIC broker rates have been slowly grinder higher past couple of weeks, but looks like most of them are min. $100k required. Wonder how much lower the rate will be if its more nominal amount of say $25k. Personally not a fan of locking $100k a clip regardless of maturity. Or Maybe I just too poor....

.
Ditto that

Except for real estate, my comfort zone pretty much ends at $100K per investment ... I much prefer lesser amounts (e.g. $50K, etc.).

IMHO, $100K+ is for the High Rollers here. sf-wink

I can live with 100K if the rate is good enough and if it's insured, but would prefer more flexibility.

I don't know who the issuer is, but would not do this with CDIC as none of the interest would be insured. 75K would be more reasonable minimum for CDIC-insured deposits.

1 Yr. GIC at 5.40% for $100K might be with Equity C.U. (source: Cannex).

With GIC brokers today for 1 year for lesser amounts, Wealth One Bank is 5.38% and WFCU is 5.35%.
