Are each of these GIC CDIC insured separately by each 3rd party institution?
ie: If I buy 100k from xyz and 100k from abc from my investorsedge RRIF account will both be insured at 100k each?

The GIC's will be if xyz and abc are CDIC members.

The trustee of the CIBC Investor's Edge RRIF's also needs to disclose to xyz and abc the individual RRIF holdings of the GIC's. Otherwise, all the CIBC Investor's Edge RRIF's will share a single $100,000 CDIC coverage limit with each CDIC member.

CDIC: For Trustees has the trustee disclosure details for trust accounts.

CDIC: For Professional Trustees has the details for trust accounts that a professional trustee has designated as professional trustee accounts, starting April 30, 2022.
