I find I am ahead financially over last year because of this very low inflation rate. Inflation eats up way more than taxes normally.

I can NOT say the same. My home insurance bill is well beyond UP and the price for food has gone through the roof. Some contracts, I've managed to lock in for a couple of years, Rogers for example.

I mainly report inflation because the CPI is what is used to determine yearly benefit changes, new TFSA contributions and influences BoC rate changes.

In response to post #2, April and May of this year were deflationary.
May and October of 2009 were both 0.1% inflation and the months in between were all deflationary.
