Looks like the rate is valid for 1.5 months (until April 30, 2018), then it reverts back to 0.85% below $25K or 0.95% above $25K.

Has anyone opened an acct with Northern CU from outside the province of Ontario? How difficult is it to transfer funds out at April 30th? Are there yearly membership fees?

IMO, not worth the effort for such a short period of time unless you live in the area or already have a membership.

Thanks Wayno for the posting. Everything, like IDs, signature, utility bill, can be accomplished through their website. They’ve pulled $. At the end, gamgam, destination will pull $ and I will probably close the account, depending on then current offer. Excellent experience. Fast.

Julio, thanks for posting. I am having difficulty uploading a pdf bank statement, utility statement or credit card statement? Any insight as to how to do this from an Ipad? This is my only stumbling block. All else went well. I took a screen shot but the application will not accept that.

Thanks for sharing but it IMHO I prefer Tangerine's 2.5% or EQ's 2.3% which has been stable for a long time than a 4% for 1.5 months (Unless I have couple millions and they give the 4% with no limit - which I don't).

Yes, $850 for 1 week and 10 days considering the person is new to DUCA and can get their account up and running by March 20th.

I hope you didn't add the 4% for 4 days only to the "promos" page. Or even for a month or so. That's highly gimmicky. Not really worth adding, in my view.

GamGam, to get money out of Northern CU, I asked Northern for an emailed Preauthorized Enrollment Form in lieu of cheques. That I presented to the FI doing the pull. You have the numbers correct, they are on the Form. Then I requested a pull transfer online for a nominal amount. The money arrived in less then 24 hours. I did this in preparation for when the current promo ends at the end of this month.

Thankyou so much Julio! Excellent! I have linked EQ and Tangerine. Should this be sufficient as well? I had issues receiving interest due March 31. Finally had the manager call me and fix it up. All is good now.
