Hi, is there a promotional list of HISA accounts on this site?
E.g. the promotional rate for Tangerine HISA is 4.8% but HISA rates here show in the 3% range.

Also, do you know of any other HISA that is more than 4.8%?

CIBC 4.9%

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone offer 5% or more these days.

You'll find them amongst all the other offers listed in the Promos tab ( top right ).
Not a list per say, but grouped, probably because they are temporary and not easy to keep track of as they come and go, unlike the HISA chart which tends to stay somewhat static other than when the BoC adjusts its lending rate.

I never really noticed the PROMO Tab before. Duh !
so now I'm trying to understand how the content works.

Q. Would one of the Admins normally replace the out of date promos with new ones or remove them when they are expired, at some point ?

Eg. Replace CIBC promo [4mths, 5%], 7th bullet down ...
with this one [3mths, 4.90%] >> https://www.cibc.com/en/special-offers/smart-savings-bonus-interest.html?itrc=M797:1

A couple of problems:

1) Some people get the preferred rate only if they are targeted (and know the secret handshake).

2) Some preferred rates are offered only to new clients. Existing clients are told to go away.

I don’t think it’s necessarily wrong to track offers that are more or less permanent for new clients. Banks like CIBC, RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, Simplii, and others pretty much always have HISA promo rates for new customers, usually lasting around three to four months. For people who enjoy chasing these promo rates by rotating HISA accounts, this can be a good way to keep things flexible while averaging well over 4.5 percent interest.

True, until you run out of new client signup offers.

Is one barred for life after taking advantage of one of these offers as a new client?

Either way, I think it would be helpful to make this information public somewhere, even if it’s not meant to be a long term solution.

It already is, perhaps it might be missing a new signup promo here and there:

A very useful summary. Can't help but notice that all or nearly all are for new or targeted customers.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case these days, there's very few non-targeted promo's for those that are willing to move their deposits regularly . Typically, they are more likely to be offered by credit unions and less so by small digital banks. This is a consequence of the consolidation in the banking industry.
