If I understand the article right. It was skimmed. Than they used the copies to defraud the force of over 100,000 over a period of years. They didn't audit regularly and it caused them to lose 80,000 dollars.

They now audit their gas purchases every month.

It's a good lesson for anyone that uses CCs.

Most credit cards in Canada use chip technology. Crooks cannot clone them.
