Citizens Bank is now offering $30 each to people referred, and the one referring to them, for opening an Ultimate Savings Account.
The normal interest rate is an additional 3.8%. To get the bonus, you must deposit $500 and leave it there for six months.
I don't have an account myself but this seems good enough reason to create one.

That's cool. When I signed up years ago they were offering $80 but only to the person opening the account. So now both people get to benefit, although not as much as before.
It's my favourite bank 😀 Let me know if you want a referral...

Sorry, Peter - before I got back here I'd already found someone with an account.
I'll try to remember you next time another bank has such an offer.

I have also setup an account with Citizens Bank, little under a month ago, and have been happy so far. I think this might be a good excuse to get my friends to setup a savings account for themselves also.

Edit: sent! I actually have no intention on getting rich off it. I'll gladly donate every dollar from all remaining referrals if you guys want to suggest a cause ( no beer funds please 😀 )
