AlternaBank is the one with the better rate, if that's what you're asking.
AlternaSavings owns AlternaBank, but they operate separately. You can't get into one via the other.

Alterna Bank is the one offering that online-only High Interest eSavings Account with the 1.95% rate.

If that is the case, then I think one would use the Alterna Bank mobile banking app and not the Alterna Savings app.

Similar to Tangerine Bank. One would use the Tangerine mobile banking app for one's Tangerine accounts and not the Scotiabank app from Tangerine's parent.
