Starting an account with ICICI Bank Part 3

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5

A few days ago, I received an e-mail from ICICI Bank that discussed the status of my application. It said that “upon receipt and clearing of the cheque, we will send your Internet Banking User ID.”

Today I noticed through my online statement at my other bank that my cheque was cashed the day after I got that e-mail. I suppose my Internet Banking User ID is coming (by regular mail or e-mail, I’m not sure)? Anyway, I guess I’ll phone ICICI next week if nothing arrives… the process doesn’t seem to be too fishy so far.

  1. Meranda says:

Yea once they get your check they mail (regular mail) out your customer ID and another separate mail that contains your password. I believe it takes 5 biz days for the check to clear (despite being cashed) and be available as funds in your new account (standard for all banks). So by the time u get your id it should be available to use.

Thanks for keeping us posted on your adventures Peter
