  1. Customer service: Rated 1 / 5 stars

    Account features: Rated 1 / 5 stars

Interest rates (consistency and amount): Rated 1 / 5 stars

    Fees: Rated 1 / 5 stars

Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.): Rated 1 / 5 stars

How long have you banked with them?: about 1 year.

Why do you bank with them?: interest rate.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Nothing.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: This is the worst bank in Canada. Everything is the worst except interest rate.

General comments: I cannot access my online account even I provided all the information. They charge a fee for closing my account. They put up all sorts of obstacles to prevent me from banking with them. This is the most stupid thing I have ever seen in my life.

Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.): Rated 1 / 5 stars

How long have you banked with them?: I've banked with them since they were Implicity Credit Union. Since they changed to Outlook Credit Union the customer service and ability to manage transactions has gone from great to abysmal!!!

Why do you bank with them?: I have long term investments with them. They offer some high interest rates.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Only the interest rates.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: When this bank was Implicity, they used to answer the phone and you could do transactions with an agent. Now when you call you can be on hold for up to an hour and cannot do transactions with customer service. Everything must be done online, and their online forms can suck.

General comments: So far they have good interest rates but the aggravation with customer service might not be worth it. If I didn't have registered investments there, I would be gone.

How long have you banked with them?: Over 20 years

Why do you bank with them?: Originally they offered competitive with good service I am now closing my accounts (very substantial value) as the service is none existent particularly for an 80+ year old with limited computer skills

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Not much

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Provide some basic assistance to clients beyond ‘we are a paperless company’ get somebody else to help.

Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.): Rated 1 / 5 stars

How long have you banked with them?: many years

Why do you bank with them?: I chose to bank with their predecessor, Implicity

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: nothing

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: their terrible bureaucratic approach and failure to let you know, for example, when they are removing your on-line access to your account

General comments: Don't bank with them if you are fairly low tech.

Interest rates (consistency and amount): Rated 5 / 5 stars

    Fees: Rated 3 / 5 stars

Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.): Rated 2 / 5 stars

How long have you banked with them?: Ever since Citizens' Bank of Canada collapsed.

Why do you bank with them?: High interest rates for savings accounts and GICs. 100% Manitoba government insurance for deposits.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Moving money between an Outlook savings account and a chequing account at another institution is convenient once the link is established. And did I mention the interest rates?

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: The online forms and procedures are confusing. But, the customer service reps can help sort through the confusion.

General comments: Outlook Financial a.k.a. Outlaw Financial in my circles. Not a great customer experience, but the higher interest rates make it worthwhile. Use your Outlaw accounts only for savings in order to avoid service charges.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: simple products, good rates, internet friendly me-to-me transfers

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: nothing, keep it simple

General comments: We've only ever had the high interest savings account (joint) and it just keeps on working for us. The me-to-me money transfers are easy and fast. Keep up the good work Outlook from a happy Alberta client (my second review).

How long have you banked with them?: 7 y

Why do you bank with them?: Back in 2012, because of the competitive interest rate they were ofering for saving accoung. Not the case any longer.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Almost nothing now.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Almost everything. But the worst is their primitive online banking interface. It lacks many basic features. Their online forms for transfer are non-sensical. Your chance of making a "mistake" filling them up is pretty high. Then you have to restart the whole process again. New accounts like RRSP or TFSA opened through mail won't show up online unless you call them (another couple of hours on the phone). It never ends... Customer service on the phone is awful. Waiting time between hafl and hour and an hour. Then I systematically get a guy with a very strong indian accent who ask me to repeat and spell my first and last names up to 4 times. Insane.

General comments: The only reason I stay is because other online bank offering good rates probably have the same crappy customer service and minimalist (to be polite) online banking system. But I know I will eventually have to move on because they will be awful - or close to impossible - to deal with for estate transfer (see previous commentor). Stay away.

How long have you banked with them?: Father banked with them for at least five years

Why do you bank with them?: He thought they would provide best return

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Not much when it came to finalizing estate for mom.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Learn what a tax free spousal rollover is and how to apply it.

General comments: Very disappointed in service at this stressful time.

Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.): Rated 1 / 5 stars

How long have you banked with them?: Since they opened

Why do you bank with them?: In the process of closing my accounts because of so many problems with their service. Great rates/products etc until you actually have to do something with your acct then it is an absolute nightmare! A change of an automatic transfer caused me about 3 hrs of grief, just to fill out the forms, talked to a customer service rep to change another transfer and he goofed it up then didn't fix what he did and then didn't even phone me back for a week, and only after I phoned and left him another message. Atm cards they sent me three, one for each acct then sent three pin numbers-All at the same time in separate envelopes- had to stand at machine figuring out which pin went with each card. Machine eats card on 3rd try. Duh

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: At this point I have nothing good to say about them.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Test out your online forms to see if they work for members if they don't then get of your butt and fix it for the member instead of directing them to your website-again. you get paid to do your job so do it. For ex. I need to finally close my acct- the form they sent me will not open on my computer, so now I have to spend another 1/2 hour on the phone with them. I have been in the process of transferring out my TFSA and RRSP's and even someone at the CU I am transferring them to is yanking out her hair dealing with them. It has taken over 2 mths for this process. Their customer service is horrible and incompetent at best. If you can't handle running a virtual branch then don't. If one of your teammates messed something up apologize and fix it. If you say you will get back to someone then do it. I paid interest rate penalty for transferring out my RRsp's but frankly it is so worth it to not deal with them anymore. To close my acct their email said sorry for losing your business and then said a service charge will apply.-The lack of customer service skills is just plain laughable! In the last three mths 2 staff people apologized for all the inconvenience I have suffered. The other 6 could not care less. Good bye Outlook!

General comments: For the rates and products you can actually deal with another Credit union. I transferred my money over and now I enjoy good rates and friendly knowledgeable staff that will help me if I require it. DON"T DO IT eventually you will be pulling your hair out in frusturation!

  11. Customer service:

    Account features:

    Interest rates (consistency and amount):

    Fees:

    Interface (online, telephone, in-person, etc.):

How long have you banked with them?: Just 1 month.

Why do you bank with them?: High and consistent interest rates, and the Me-To-Me ease of money transfers.

What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Long term track record.

What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: The addition of a small monthly transaction package (maybe 10 transactions) for a small fee would be good.

General comments: ING (now Tangerine - Scotia) and PC Financial (CIBC) offer savings rates that are only a fraction above the banks rates. They are using teaser rates as well (not good). Outlook just gives you the straight goods year in and year out.
