Sounds legit?  

I received an email asking for confirmation of details quite a while back. Initially thought it was a scam or phishing attempt, but did some checking and it was legit. Confirmed a few details and that was it. My wife received no such email asking for confirmation. On the other hand, other family members did receive it. So, either it was randomized checks or some portion of the initial claim information submitted didn't entirely match up and needed a double-check on the administrators part.

I was annoyed by it, but complied.

Still no payment received, so I phoned. There was supposedly an e-mail sent out to reconfirm my 'interac somethingrather', which I never received, and had a deadline for a response. That means I get nothing because that deadline past. Yes they confirmed my current e-mail on file, my address etc. I'm 'added to a list' in case something changes....  

I also haven’t received anything besides the "confirmation of receipt for your online claim" back in September. Which number did you call?

Fuel prices rarely fluctuate during the day in our area, except for the odd station attempting to push prices up (there are two usual offenders). So to hear that other parts of the country see this is interesting. Reminds me of various parts of Europe where constant fluctuations of the price during the day is the norm.

I was under the impression that the payout is per civic address--not per individual in the same home. I'm surprised to learn that.

How much compensation will I receive?

The amount per claimant will depend on whether an approved claimant previously received a $25 Loblaw card from the Loblaw Card Program.

If you did not participate in the Loblaw Card Program you will be paid $49.11.

If you participated in the Loblaw Card Program you will be paid $24.11.

Please note: The amount payable to claimants who chose to receive their payment by cheque will be reduced by $2.

When will I receive my share of the settlement compensation?

We are now in the distribution phase of the settlement and payments began to be issued for approved claims beginning the week of May 11, 2026.

Payments are issued on a rolling basis so not all claimants will receive payment at the same time. Please check your inbox and junk or spam folder if you chose to be paid by e-Transfer.

How will I receive payment?

Payment will be made by Interac e-Transfer by email from notify@payments.interac.ca or by cheque, depending on the payment method requested by the claimant.

Please note that because of the large number of approved claims, payments are being issued on a rolling basis and not all claimants will receive payment at the same time.

If you are expecting an e-Transfer, please check your ‘Spam’ and “Junk” folders, as sometimes emails are routed there. If you elected to be paid by cheque, $2 will be deducted from the compensation payable to reflect the additional cost of providing a cheque.
