At a glance in the TFSA column, the $75 per transfer out transaction and the $100 closing fee would be a consideration to me. Also not sure about any fee(s) around their TFSA GICs.

They hold all mobile deposits for 7 business days. 3) W1 advertises that they have a $10,000 daily transfer limit on e-transfers. The daily limit is $3000.00. As long as you are aware of this banking at W1 can provide you some of the highest rates available. I keep balances below 100,000 CDIC guarantee.

I have another question - how do I buy GIC - I already have HISA account.
Could not figure it out on the app.

I've not tried on an App before but you can do it from a laptop using a browser, just need to log into your account and go to Account Services. Just opened a 5 year GIC as their new rate today is 3.8, quite good for me.

Yes, use a VPN. There are apps you can download that will make it appear to their banking site that you are in Canada. IP blocking is not unheard of, LBC Digital and B2B ( Laurentian Bank ) were one of the culprits.

A very good question, Dean, as I linked my accts when W1 first came online. Their interface does not give information as to how its done, so here is what W1 customer service email says:

Option 1:
Deposit a personal cheque (e.g., $1.00) into your WealthONE savings account via the WealthONE mobile app. Once the cheque has cleared, your external account will automatically be linked, and you may transfer funds between your external account and your WealthONEsavings account.

Option 2:
Provide the following documents for manual verification:
•A direct deposit form or a void cheque
•A recent bank statement for the external account
•A copy of government-issued identification

Thanks for bringing that up, because I did not know their current practice.

Another one of their idiosyncrasies

How about Pulling from or Pushing to WOne from other FI's?

I've never pushed to W1 from an external FI. All my transactions have been from W1 to external linked accounts, which has always worked as expected...except in the situation described earlier.

It should be noted I just realized in mis- wrote my report in the original post:

When initiating an EFT pull, if left on its own, won't be processed until 24 hours later, leaving W1 24 to 36 hours following the pull and will therefore arrive at the destination FI three days later.

Should say:

When initiating an EFT PUSH, if left on its own, won't be processed until 24 hours later, leaving W1 24 to 36 hours following the PUSH and will therefore arrive at the destination FI three days later.

Sorry for the error

Bottom line is if you want your EFT to go out today, call the W1 CSR to do it for you.
