Guess they don't like me no more.

I missed the last promo round, but by some miracle I got a 4.25% offer today.

Here’s how it works:

1. We’ve totalled up the balances of your eligible Savings as they were on March 3, 2026 to get your total balances per Account Type.

2. From March 4, 2026 to May 31, 2026, you’ll earn your special interest rate on new deposits over your total balances calculated on March 3, 2026 (up to $1,000,000.00 per Account Type).

3. The rest of your Account balance will earn the current posted rate.

Once the offer kicks in April 1, the tiered rates offer will show up in an Insight. The applicable Tiered Savings Rate, depending on one's total daily balance, will then be the "Current Interest Rate" under "Account Detalls" of the savings account.

The tiered rates offers don't seem to be done the same way as previous targeted Tangerine offers.

FYI
Update re: tiered rates:

My current promo of 4.2% ends on Mar 31 and I just found an em from Tang sent Mar 20 with the following offer starting Apr 1 for 6 months:

Total Daily Balance Interest Rate*‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌
$0-$49,999 2.75%
$50,000-$99,999 3.00%
$100,000-$499,999	3.25%
$500,000+ 3.50%

Seems to be same fine print as you all have been talking about and it applies automatically Apr 1 (no opt-in required).

There was no notice about it in my inbox on the Tang site, nor does it show up anywhere when I log in to my account.

I've looked at the "Investment Bonus" details a few time trying to understand it. What it looks like to me is you get 2% total paid over 30 months, I.E. 2.5 years. So that's about 0.7% PA. Plus you'd have to leave your funds in the account for 2.5 years (30 months) to keep getting it paid out.
It's a bit of high school math trickery hoping people don't look to closely.
EQ bank on the other hand recently had an offer to get $200 after 6 months for putting $10k into a TFSA. That works out to and extra 4% PA, but $200 for $10k was the maximum, so the overall value was minimal.

A reality of the business is that money lenders, like the banks, only need a certain amount of deposits to lend out. There is no benefit taking on more deposit liabilities than that.

It is quite easy to attract deposits once a lender can offer insured deposits. Just offer a leading rate on the deposits and the money will pour in.

Equitable Bank did that years ago through EQ Bank and they couldn't onboard new depositors fast enough! New EQ Bank clients were issued reservations on a list and had to wait weeks on the list before their staff could onboard them.

However, it is not as easy find borrowers for the deposited money who will likely repay what they borrow as agreed.
