Who do you guys have to "kill" to get all these offers? Or, is it because you don't have a "foreign sounding" name? I'm starting to suspect something sinister going on here.

This "lottery" thing is getting ridiculous. It's comparable to walking into a grocery store and the price of milk is $1.00 for some people (the "chosen" ones) and $1.50 for the rest.

Maybe long overdue for the Competition Bureau and/or some other governing bodies to launch an investigation?

Offer the same rate for all or to none.

Logged into Tangerine to find 4.75% savings offer to De31/26. Did so because the previous one just ended. T&C seems more expansive than ever, copied from in account activation. Confirmation email shows no attachment, no T&C, just confirmation.

Wife was on tiered rates to Sept 30, never used it as rates were low, just got 4.25% on new money to Dec 31. First offer for her since July 2025 after years of regular promo offers, eventually they come back to you.

I had gotten a 4.25% offer from Tangerine back in August by email, but had recently moved my money to BMO after signing up for a 4 month promotion at 4.75%. Got another one in September at 4.5% by email, also never accepted since BMO promotion wasn't going to be done until half way through the period and I was curious if I'd get a third one this month. I had not received an email but when logging in today I checked my offers and had a 4.75% one today. BMO promotion expires tomorrow so perfect timing!
Not sure how declining offers affects the lottery; maybe they are offering this to most people who are not an a current offer. I have discovered that if you take ANY offer you can't get any other offers, even if you call in (though that might depend a bit on the agent) so I think it's a good idea to decline offers that are of little interest in hopes of a future one that's better.

Thanks for the suggestion, GR. Past Tangerine promotions have paid bonus interest on bonus interest. I do not see that has changed in the terms and conditions for this promotion.

I did remove the bonus interest from my calculations, just in case, but there was still a difference between calculated and received; however, in looking back through my spreadsheet, my balance had dropped below my Aug 25 closing balance - the snapshot balance for this promotion. I had failed to work that fact into my calculations. Oops.

I believe the small difference is due to Tangerine not paying bonus interest rate on bonus interest earned previous months.

When signing on to Tangerine, my Wife also uses the; "write down the digits as they are read, and then punches them in later" method, and it works just fine for her.

As for my self, I much prefer the 'Numeric Keypad' method ... it's Easy & Fast, and gets the job done with no issues (@ Tangerine & elsewhere).

Whatever works, eh❗

The problem is not the keypad! The issue is connecting by phone in the first place (frustrating enough!), and then if a connection is made, the speed at which the robotic voice reads off the six digit code. I have the phone in one hand, and the computer keyboard in front of me on the desk. Rather than try to hit the correct keys as the numbers are read out, maybe better to write down the digits as they are read, and then punch them in later. BTW, my keyboard does not have a numeric keypad, just the numbers above the first row of keys.

Anyway, I do not know why the voice says the digits so quickly - only at Tangerine, not the other FIs.

I too find the numeric keypad much easier (and faster) to use, than the number keys on top of the main keyboard.

Not an issue if one touch types the six digit code on the numeric keypad. The '5' key has a tactile bump to help position the three fingers over the '4', '5', and '6' home row keys.

For myself (73 years old) I've Never had a problem with Tang's TFA.

1.) I've only had one dead call from them, and that was about 6 months ago.

2.) If we can't understand the spoken code the first time, we are given an option to have it repeated (which I've never had to use).

To each, their own.

When I log into my Tangerine account on the web, I get a phone call from Tang for two factor authentication. As I do not own a cell phone, they have to voice call me, not send a text.

Two issues with their TFA, which I am wondering if others have problems with.

1. About half the time, the call from Tang ends up as a dead call - I say hello, but no response from Tang; the line just goes dead. So I have to try again. And sometimes again!

2. When the female robotic voice does respond, it rattles off the 6 digit code so quickly that it is hard to keep up. (other FIs I deal with are much slower in relating the code) I wish they would slow down!

This makes it a real chore to sign into Tang!
