Think carefully before buying any RRSP products. If you have some free cash, I'd fill the TFSA first. RRSPs are not a good investment if you're in a low tax bracket.

I agree on that. But if you have never owned a home, and it is one of your main goals, a FHSA combines the tax benefits of the TFSA and RRSP if it is used for a down payment. However, if you think you may need the funds for other purposes, TFSAs are way more flexible.

Hello everyone,

I’m based in Saskatchewan and recently started learning more about personal finance, investing, high-interest savings accounts, and bank promotions in Canada.

I’ve been reading discussions here about HISA rates, GICs, Wealthsimple, Tangerine, and other financial products. There seems to be a lot of useful information, so I decided to join and learn from the community.

I’m currently focusing on building long-term investments through a TFSA and trying to make better use of cashback, banking bonuses, and promotional offers available in Canada.

Looking forward to learning from everyone and contributing where I can.

Thanks for having me!
