"They" don't seem to know that asute investors like us share information among ourselves.

Reminds me of the Gordie Howe story. When Bobby Baun joined the Red Wings,

Bobby: Hey Gordie, how much are the Red Wings paying you?
Gordie: Don't tell anybody but I'm the highest paid player on the team.
Bobby: Oh, so you're making over $100,000 a year.

" Gordie Howe discovered that teammate Bobby Baun was making over $100,000 per season, while Howe was paid only $45,000 per season. After getting this information, Howe confronted management and demanded that he received the appropriate compensation. Howe was always under the impression that he was the highest paid player on the team. 1969"

Yes, my experience is that pull transactions count towards the 2 included transactions. At the end of a promo, I pull the principle before the end of the month (in this case no later than June 30), and then pull the interest around the 3rd or 4th of the next month.

To rely on EQ Bank, I would have both the mobile banking and online banking because the online banking is more unreliable I've found. As well, have the EQ Bank Card to be able to withdraw some cash right away and deposit it elsewhere in a potentially very inconvenient unavailability. Also remember while there is no telephone banking, you can complete transactions via Customer Care just in case you can’t log on at all and it’s urgent. Finally, create a “passkey” in the EQ Bank security settings to have the option of passwordless and SMS 2FA-less login, which might help if one of those things at EQ Bank isn’t working (in addition to you adopting the increased security).

The website and app slowness is very true and I find it funny EQ Bank and its Wikipedia article makes a deal about it being the first “cloud-first bank”, while only EQ Bank’s performance in reality is completely garbage so that doesn’t mean anything at all.

To troubleshoot your current website issues, try using a web browser with no preference or other customizations or try a different Wi-Fi in public or at work.

Seems a number of the big banks are jumping on the bandwagon and starting to offer lump sum promo offers on savings accounts where the bonus is paid out at the end of the 90 days. One nice thing is the bonus lump sum may not be taxable, meaning they don't issue T5 slips for the payouts, sort of like how you don't get a slip for cashback on a credit card, etc,. In this instance, the offer may be specifically targeted so it may not have broad appeal, interesting nevertheless.

By slower, I mean 10-15 seconds compared to 1-5 seconds. I'm content with the delay in exchange for 2.75% interest on my spending accounts, Being optimistic, I expect EQ to improve as it expends and builds-out its technology.

Very interesting now that you mention it, I noticed that too. Perhaps it represents the sign in signal going through multiple routers with checks along the way, most likely EQ's method of protecting themselves against hackers. Just guessing, that could sometimes affect the stability of the sign in process.

The EQ Bank App and webpage sometimes are slower to load than my other 'big-five' online banking services [RBC, Scotia] and small providers [PCF, Home] but I have yet to encounter a denial of access in the four years I've been a client. By slower, I mean 10-15 seconds compared to 1-5 seconds. I'm content with the delay in exchange for 2.75% interest on my spending accounts, Being optimistic, I expect EQ to improve as it expends and builds-out its technology.

I declined their 2.5% piddly offer as I am currently getting 4.25% at Tangerine until August 31st. By declining the offer as others have done, I am hoping that Simplii will come back with an improved offer of at least 3.0% expiring September 30th or later.

Four days later, and I'm Still having No sign-in problems with EQ.

"Why are some having problems, and some not ?"

Oh OK then, I'll bite/byte

- Timing - when EQ is having a problem, or not
- Browser type and/or update to it causes failure by blocking some part of the login procedure until the next update fixes the problem they inadvertently created by trying to add security!
- Anti Virus used and its too aggressive settings or its latest update (now that might well be the culprit)
- Browser cache/cookies saved is faulty/corrupted from the last time logging out of EQ, usually when doing it too fast/closing the browser completely and fast. Use a browser that allows going in and deleting all cache and cookies, but for EQ only.
- And finally...... who knows!
