10/08/2026 Update:

So I just got off the phone with Haventree Bank, the representative told me that apparently the e-transfer deposit delay was because it was the first time ever I was initiating an e-transfer into the account, since it was a brand new opening.

And based on the second e-transfer test, deposit instantly posted.

Seems all good.

I still recommend Haventree Bank for anyone thinking to give them a go.

@Norman1,

You were right. ($2.01) transaction posted as of 12:15AM.

This means if e-Transfer was deposited at 10:51PM EST and posted to Haventree Savings at 12:15AM EST: IT TOOK 1HR and 24MINS for the eTransfer deposit to post.

We will see again tomorrow afternoon if its the same issue or only a concern around midnight hours. Further testing needed.

I won't get out like a bat from hell, but Haventree is not as good as I originally thought. For example, Saven Financial might not have a great app but their eTransfers post instantly anytime throughout the day.

At least the topic has been partially solved.

Regarding it occurring around midnight, well I never had this happen before with any other online bank / online CU around this time range.

I decided to give Haventree Bank a try...

Everything seemed good at first, great app, great UI. But...

Sent myself an e-Transfer of ($2.01) just as a means to fund the account.
eTransfer arrives instantly, followed prompt to deposit at Haventree Bank, immediately after depositing into the Savings account funds did NOT post.

BMO sent me a confirmation eTransfer has been deposited.
Haventree Bank sent me a text/email that my balance is below the typical $100 range.

Yet, balance still shows as $0.00 when in fact supposed to be $2.01.

I'm a little worried if this is an ongoing issue or deposit delay for Haventree that's a major turnoff.

This offer of 4.20% (2-year) probably is only through their online account. In Questrade it has a 2 year of 4.03%

Well, this has been rather frustrating. I don't have a deposit broker, and the ones I called don't deal with Haventree. The Haventree web site pointed to two numbers, one of which said that I'd have to join the bank with a smartphone to identify myself, and the other number just kept me on hold for a while, then rang again, then kept me on hold, ad infinitum. Does anyone know of a deposit broker in Vancouver who will deal with Haventree? I gather that the outfit is Saskatchewan-based.

OK, very helpful, and glad Haventree wanted to do that. It will save them time too by reducing phone calls. My questions have to do with joint savings accounts.

1: I assume the primary (account opening initiator) gets the T5 as it will have that person's SIN on it. Like everywhere else, but I just want to clarify.

And the practical day to day stuff -

2: Do both people have access to the joint account with their own separate EFT linked accounts for transfers in and out?

3: Does each person have a separate login ID and password?
