I just had two 90 day GICs mature at DUCA, 4 days apart. The principal for both GICs was almost the same (although not identical) and yet the second GIC received almost $100 less interest! Well, I had noticed some entries in my DUCA savings account back in December - basically one GIC had been deposited with interest and then reversed back out. I just assumed it was some sort of glitch and did not think anything of it since everything was fully reversed out. When I called DUCA to investigate the shortfall of interest on the GIC, they said the GIC had been "re-set" for some reason and this was highly unusual. No explanation provided. They ended up crediting me for the missing interest the same day but it is fair to say that it only got corrected because I called in.

M2m has been disabled by DUCA for several months, along with other self service online functions.

DUCA has become a disappointment this past year, since being a leader in providing attractive deposit options. Sadly, no more.

But you can M2M again!!

Note too that these limits apply using DUCA's system.

these are taxed as interest not dividend, and only if it"s declared. I rather buy a 5y corp bond if squeezing extra yield is the reason to think of getting something like that. At least interest has to be paid (assume all is good) and both are equaly illiquid anyway.
