The 2026 Summer Everyday Banking Offer (“Everyday Banking Offer”) is available from August 7, 2026 – November 2, 2026. You can earn up to $900.00 in total cash bonuses when you open a new Canadian Dollar Primary Chequing Account (“Chequing Account”) with an Eligible Bank Plan (defined below), open a new Savings Amplifier Account (“Savings Account”) at any BMO Bank of Montreal branch or online at bmo.com/cash, and setup a savings goal in My Financial Progress (“My Financial Progress Cash Offer”).

Spoke too soon! There is a requirement to not recently have certain BMO chequing or BMO savings accounts:

• Existing Customers are not eligible for the Everyday Banking Offer. An “Existing Customer” is anyone who currently has a BMO Canadian or U.S. Dollar Primary Chequing Account, Canadian or U.S. Dollar Interest Chequing Account, Canadian or U.S. Dollar Premium Rate Savings Account, Smart Saver Account, Savings Builder Account, or Savings Amplifier Account (each an “Existing Account”) or anyone who closes their Existing Account between August 7, 2025 to November 2, 2026 and subsequently opens a new Chequing Account or Savings Account.
• If a Chequing Account or Savings Account is opened as a joint account, and any one of the accountholders is an Existing Customer or if an Existing Customer closes an Existing Account between August 7, 2025 to November 2 , 2026, then none of the accountholders are eligible for the Everyday Banking Offer.

BMO's offer works in this way: offer is from August 7-Nov. 2/26. If you sign up on Aug 7, you get the full 120 days special interest rate. If you sign up in September 7, then you get only ~90 days of special interest , you sign up on Oct 2, you get only ~30days of special interest,

How about ScotiaBank? Does their offer works like BMO where the offer is based on a fixed period? Or does their special interest starts on the day you opened the account - so you can go anytime of the year and be assured of getting the full 90 days of special interest?

Same offer as one just ended Aug. 6th. I tried to copy and paste but couldn’t get it to work. Go to BMO web site and look for ‘offers’.  

You could briefly tell us what offer you saw ...

My base Interest appeared Aug 3, dated Jul 31.

My promo Interest also appeared Aug 3 and dated Aug 3

Under the offer, only the promotional interest for the Savings Amplifier Account is to be paid after the end of the month:

Promotional Interest is calculated on the daily closing balance of the Account and paid monthly up to the fifteenth calendar day of the subsequent month. For example, interest that is earned in the month of March, will be paid to the account up to April 15. Promotional Interest will be shown separately from the posted interest on the Account statement. Did you get the regular interest for month of July?  

Yes got it yesterday dated July 31st.

As an example, on the brokerage side, I never expect the actual posting date of ISA re-invested distributions until a few business days post-month end but transaction date will be properly dated.
