Does anyone use Outlook Financial? What is your experience with them?

I had an account a few years ago and didn't like their online banking or rate climber GICs (just give me the best rate), I had an account with ING, however, just opened an account with Achieva Financial and am very happy with their product and rates. Their online account opening is simple and you can also order an ATM card and cheques for your account.

I am NOT happy with Outlook Financial. At the time when I invested with Outlook Financial they had the leading edge on their early redemption fees for GIC's but have since changed it. I had issues and errors with O.F. and they fixed all of them promptly. The response from the Outlook CEO was excellent. I just received my 6 mo. statement and one of the issues is still not fixed and not all of the investments show on it…thus a useless piece of paper. And there is no way of relating my O.F. mailed statement investments to the online summary. O.F. did not send me a confirmation of GIC's and I really don't know if I have joint investment or not…nor can i see that information in the online summary. I know we want everything free and get high rates…but…O.F. can pay rates far superior to a BANK but you have to pay for some of the services you use. I feel that Outlook ise offering good investment products and should not be used for day to day banking. I do feel, strongly, that if you want to do this investing using an online service the service should provide concise information….and Outlook at this point does not.

I know a lot of people on this site dont like them but Ally seems fine to me. I havent experienced the issues some have stated and its been a very easy path setting up an account and interacting with them. 2% for savings and 4% for GIC,s is good these days.

I am starting to think the only place to make a bit of increase will be this way since mutual funds and stocks just go up and down then they charge you account fees after making no money for you but they get paid all the same!

Please keep in mind that a large part of Ally is owned by the US Treasury as part of the auto sector bail outs. Nothing bad really but I soul be very cautious to deal with them.
