01/01/10 ING raised TFSA rate to 3%. As they say, this rate like the weather is subject to change. Let see how long this lasts. In 2009 it went from 1.35% to 3% for 5 weeks before dropping to 1.05% (07/01/09 – 10/02/09).
Happy New Year to all

Thanks for the update. I also don't trust ING Direct on this rate given what happened last year. As much as you could say that non-guaranteed rates are exactly that — non-guaranteed — it is a bait-and-switch tactic to have such short-term high rates that are not labelled as promotional rates.

This promotional rate is now well into its 4th month. Can't say I'm disappointed so far.
Any guess on when it will go back down to a more ''normal'' level?

Took me a couple of months. Figured would be a hassle to fill out forms and whatnot… Also wasn't sure if this rate would stick. Guess we'll see how long it takes to mail off, be processed and money finally moved…
