Open a new investment savings acct (Regular, RSP, TFSA) with ING Direct with a starting balance of $100 or more, you get a $25 bonus. Please refer to http://www.ingdirect.ca/en/lan…..index.html

Exactly. I really like the orange bank, but their rates lag so far behind the multiple rate leaders these days that it just doesn't make sense to park my money there. Well, other than a minimal amount transferred in to my Thrive chequing account on an as-needed basis, so I can write the occasional rare cheque.

They're good at offering higher rates to new customers. If you're an existing customer though, you get crumbs.

Oh, I forgot to mention, their daily interest rate in the Investment TFSA is 2%. That is way better than my Scotiabank TFSA.

I have recently been pulling my money out of ING as well. They're just not very competitive anymore. You'd think maybe they would try to match Ally's rates, but no. Ironically they are starting to become just like the big banks they used to mock in their early ads.
