I currently have an US Dollar Account at CitizenBank with several thousands in it. But ICICI HiSave US account offers 3.25% rate, which is so much better than 1.25% of Citizenbank. I want to transfer those US dollars to ICICI since it's not a good time to sell US dollar now (the rate is around 0.9717 and will not seems to go higher than that for quite a time). Although the US Dollar Account from both bank is not insured with CDIC (Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation), I always have more comfortable and trusting feeling toward Citizenbank. Should I deposit those money in ICICI instead of letting them sit there without gaining much interest? I need everyone's advice.

Thanks alot
Ivy

I think you answered your own question. If ICICI goes belly-up or goes back to India tomorrow, you lose your non-CIDC-insured funds, including your US$ accounts.

At the end of the day, choice is urs..
I dont see an issue in investing money with icici as I know its a global brand and they are in 17 geographies. I have been with them for last 4 years.
