To follow up my article series about opening an account with ICICI, it's time to withdraw some money!

It is now 9:30am PST on Tuesday, September 25 and I have initiated a $20 transfer out from ICICI HiSAVE to another bank.

I'll keep this thread updated and will review the ICICI interface in a bigger article when I have the time.

Wednesday, September 26: $20 shown as debited from my ICICI account. No money in my other bank account yet.

Thursday, September 27: $20 shown as credited in my other bank account on the 26th. So it probably transferred in last night. That was unexpectedly fast…

Hi there, I just opened a HiSave account with ICICI, haven't received my welcome package yet. Thanks for sharing with us your experience, I heard a lot horrible reviews about the bank…

Someone sent me a referral email for the bonus payment, but because I accidently applied online, the CSR says I can't receive the bonus… :(

Uh oh…I also tried to get the bonus as well. It has been a couple of weeks and I don't see it in my account yet. When I phoned they said it takes up to a month…

I've gotta say, I've had a positive experience with ICICI, but I haven't heard of any other positive ICICI experiences on this site!

I have held both a C$ and US $ HiSave account with ICICI for over a year. I have spoken to their customer service twice, and both times found them helpful. Money transfers are also done promptly. I have no complaints with them period.

I have been with ICICI for 2 years now. When I started the rate was 3.5, after 4 months it swtiched to %3, but I never knew that was supposed to happen, they never disclosed it. Now they have the promotional %4.5 seems tempting. But not sure if its only for 3 months or forever. Not sure how they are basing their rates…but the teller explained that they can change any time…up or down. I dont like that. GIC is looking better because of the garunteed rate. Also, I wanted to change banks, but then realized the other banks are just the same, might as well stick to this one.

ICICI Canada is something to watch out for. I am totally satisfied with the services and rates offered to me at their brampton branch. I want to convey a positive message to all the readers. Their brampton branch is one of their best branches. It was a pleasure banking with them.

Hi Rick / Chris / Nick,

I have no problem with you writing positive things about ICICI, but please be a bit more honest and use only one identity.

Have had similar poor experiences and have just put a stop payment on my cheque. Was bombarded with emails telling me to send in my cheque even though I had done so weeks ago. Waited a month after sending in the ID documents, then phoned and was told there was an address discrepancy on my mother's ID on one of her documents, with the address on her application (it's a joint account). So, that's a problem? They couldn't have let us know? Now they want additional ID. I played along, but I've had it. During that month, the interest rate has dropped and is only 0.1 higher than PC Financial so we will go there. Have just put a stop payment on the cheque and will be writing to their CEO and to Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star.
