Hi,

Since the name change from HSBC Direct to HSBC Advance, is the Internet Bill Payment still free?

Are there other free services that have charges now?

How long is the dormant acoount? Is there a fee?

Thanks!

As far as I know, the features haven't changed at all and the bill payments are still for free. I'm not sure about dormant accounts.

The HSBC Advance Savings account is still offered existing, grandfathered HSBC Direct Savings account holders. It also available to new customers as a separate account via Personal Internet Banking; however, no in-branch access is available. As well, new HSBC Advance Savings account holders will not receive a personalized, HSBC Advance debit card unless they enroll in the HSBC Advance package which includes a fee-free chequing account and HSBC Advance branded MasterCard.

Accounts become dormant after 12 months of inactivity (no customer-initiated debit or credit transactions within that period) and a fee is charged after two years, if no response to the two-year notice within 90 days of the two-year notice being sent. I believe it is $25.

Online bill payments are free from the HSBC Advance Savings account.

Hope that helps,
Doug
