The other day Desjardins charged me 42,50$ for NSF check since HSBC system saved twice my request to transfer $1500 from my main Desjardins account to HSBC. I had $2000 so the second $1500 was blocked by Desjardins and Desjardins charged me $42.50 fee for NSF check.
I called Desjardins and explained the problem, they said it was HSBC's fault and they had the proof and 2 confirmation numbers from 1 second appart from HSBC asking for $1500 transfer. Desjardins voided my responsibility on my 1 NSF check of 2010 but it was still in my credit history.
I then called HSBC and spoke with a first representative who didn't return my calls and was always away from her bureau for about 2 weeks. Then I was transfered to another representative who was really comprehensive, asked to send a fax with a proof of the $42.50 Desjardins charged me, and did refund the 42,50$ within 1 week.
I was about to close my HSBC account because of that $&*@ up of their system but I'll give it another try since I find really useful being able to withdarw at any National Bank ATM and having unlimited amount of transactions to pay my credit card bills.
