Hi,

My name is Jose Miguel, I am a new Canadian Resident in Missisauga, On. I am looking for updated information about the best way to put my money in the Bank in order to:

- Gain the most interest saving account fee or other kind of account or services with high interest fees.

- Know what banking institution is the most appropriate for RRSP or Exhcange Traded Banking Service for me to apply.

Thank you very much for your help.

i hope some body could respond me.

Jose,

Your best bet for now would be to establish a relationship with one of Canada's "Big Six" banks. They are (in no particular order):

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)
National Bank of Canada
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)
Bank of Montreal (BMO)
Bank of Nova Scotia
Toronto Dominion Canada Trust (TD Canada Trust)

These are all "full service" banks that will be able to help you with savings/chequing accounts, RRSPs, investing through full-service brokerages (or discount brokerages if that's what you wish). Once you get comfortable with Canada's banking system, you will see that the options for managing your wealth are virtually unlimited.

Good luck.

HSBC has more International services and are more familiar with many types of foreign exchange conversions and deposits than the big 6–however many people seem to dislike HSBC (I dont).
Their website is a bit less user-friendly than some others.

Agreed…the big banks have some of the best international services, however, to gain the best rates on all your RSP savings and term deposits, open an account online with Achieva Financial, I have now moved all my retirement savings to them as they consistently have among the best rates, good online services and helpful staff.
