Does anyone know anything about La Capitale Groupe Financier / La Capitale Financial Group ?
It is a QC institution, covered by QC Deposit Insurance. I am unclear whether it is a bank or ...?
They are offering 2.5% until end of June for daily interest for first-time customers in non-registered and TFSA accounts.
Perhaps only for Quebecois?

I read the website and I did not see any reference that La Capitale Groupe Financier is covered by prov insurance. Could you provide me with the reference if you saw it - perhaps I missed it.
I did not note any restrictions for residents of other provinces on their website.
Thx

Perhaps I mis-read it. It may be a bit ambiguous. Appears to be an insurance company.

"You can sleep easy! La Capitale's Stow & Grow account protects your money from market fluctuations. No risk to take with your savings.***
*** La Capitale Civil Service Insurer Inc. is registered with the Autorité des marchés financiers under the Deposit Insurance Act."

yes - it does appear that one has to be a resident of Quebec - I found the following sentence about the Stow and Glow account

"In order to open a La Capitale Stow & Grow account, you must be age 18 or older and be a resident of Quebec."

Yes it does say the company is registered with the Autorite des marches .........., so perhaps deposits are covered - not really clear to me ...

thanks for the research, Brian. Not for me, then, but there are so many offers that are not available in QC, so I guess it's good that there is something for them!
