Canadian High Interest Savings Bank Accounts

For the first time ever, Citizens Bank has raised its Ultimate Savings Account rate proactively — not in response to ING Direct! Historically, Citizens Bank had been keeping its rate 0.05% above that of ING Direct's. Granted, ING Direct has a promotional rate of 4.25% on any new balances for the next few months, but its regular rate is only 3.5%.

I just got an e-mail from ING Direct saying that its rate will go to 3.75% starting on September 1, 2007. Looks like someone at Citizens Bank had some inside information, as its rate will be, as always, exactly 0.05% higher than ING Direct.
