Canadian High Interest Savings Bank Accounts

Just spoke with a Citizens Back representative. (God i will miss theses guys.!!)

Anyways, if i got everything right here is the info i got:

Checking accounts should be functional until probably February. No date has been confirmed yet but they wont shut down the whole thing right away.

Inactive checking account will be closed in December
Interest rate for saving accounts will be 0% starting February 2010

For my part, i am moving with HSBC Direct Saving account. Unlimited transactions, no fees.
Only thing: cannot make any check.

I only do 12 checks to my landlord.
So i will uses theses credit card checks they send me now and then.
But be aware! They charge interests the first day they have been cashed. So send money to you credit card before they cash the check. (negative balance (they owe you money)) for at least the amount of the check and dont carry a balance!
