How come there is no mention of the promotional 2.5% interest rate that Tangerine & PC Financial is offering right now???????

Also I can't find a reference anywhere on this site to promotional rates now on from some big banks, e.g. TD Canada Trust and CIBC offering 2% on new deposits until Sept 30. It would be nice to have separate area for interest rate promotions, both for bank accounts and GICs.

Thanks for pointing that out, Bill. We have a thread about that here, and I'm working on setting up an area to list current promotions. My challenge is to find a spot other than the "News" in the top right so that promos don't dominate all news.

I do not know what drives you Peter - Admin to maintain this site but the site is really GREAT. Wealth of information and very helpful members.
As for the spot for promotions, how about one more tab at the top between Surveys and About?

My wife and I have a joint account with TDCT and she got a letter for the 2% promo. Turns out she got picked, I didn't, according to TDCT! No reason given, though they said if it's really an issue maybe they can get their marketing dept to issue me the same offer. I said don't bother, we opened a joint hi int account, apparently that's ok. I had the feeling they'd give you the deal if you're new business or even if you're an existing customer if you pushed, but I don't know for sure.

I've created a new promotions page here. I decided the "About" page didn't need to go in the main menu, so I've replaced it with a "Promos" menu item and moved the link to the "About" to the footer and the bottom of the right sidebar.

Thanks everybody for spurring the creation of the new "Promos" page!
